Non-Accredited Education & Foreign Degree Equivalency

To be considered as qualifying for our job postings, education must be from a regionally accredited college or university. For this reason, you may have received a notice stating that you had non-accredited education when you applied.

Degrees earned outside of the US are not regionally accredited, meaning a degree equivalency will need to be provided with your application. NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) is the organization that oversees foreign degree equivalency evaluations.

Current regionally accrediting organizations:

  • Higher Learning Commission
  • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges
  • the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges Western Association of Schools and Colleges

CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accredited) is the institution that regulates regional accreditation.

Applicants are responsible for the cost of this service if they choose to obtain an evaluation.
