New Hire Information

Be prepared for your first day with the WVDOT by bringing the documents below.

Required Documentation

Bring the following to orientation:

  • Two (2) forms of identification 
    • Accepted documents list provided HERE.
    • Most common are driver's license and social security card.
  • Direct Deposit Information
    • Voided check or letter from your bank on their letterhead.
    • Letter from your bank must have account number, routing number, and be signed by bank representative.



  • Insurance Benefit Selections
    • Names of plans selected (for health, dental, vision, additional benefits)
    • Birth and marriages certificates for spouse and children you wish to add to your coverage.
    • Social security number and birth date for your spouse and children you wish to cover.
  • Consolidated Public Retirement (PERS)
    • Name, address, social security number, and date of birth of your beneficiary.

Annual Increment Pay

After 3+ years of service, employees receive annual increment pay equal to $60 per full year of service.

Paid Annual & Sick Leave

Annual (vacation) and sick leave are accrued each pay period (amount depends on years of service).

Paid Holidays

Twelve paid holidays per year.
