Gain real world experience while pursuing your degree!

This program provides on-the-job training and experience for college students.

To participate in the Co-Op program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be working on your first Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Engineering or Engineering Technology

    • Administrative (Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources, etc.)

    • Information Technology or Related Field

    • Two-to-Four year Bachelor's in Engineering Technology

    • Other Bachelor's Degrees are welcome to apply; however, rejection is at the discretion of WVDOT

  • Complete (or show that you plan to have) 30 credit hours (or equivalent) when finishing your freshman year (end of Spring 2025).

  • Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) the semester preceding and succeeding the period for which you are applying.

  • Have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

  • Have a valid driver's license

These positions are classified as temporary full-time employees, and are not eligible for benefits such as insurance, retirement, paid leave, etc. Co-Ops may only be employed for a maximum of 1,000 hours within a 12 month period. Compensation is based on number of hours completed towards a degree and the number of co-ops previously worked.
