This program provides on-the-job training and experience for college students.
To participate in the Co-Op program, students must meet the following requirements:
Be working on your first Bachelor's Degree in:
Engineering or Engineering Technology
Administrative (Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources, etc.)
Information Technology or Related Field
Two-to-Four year Bachelor's in Engineering Technology
Other Bachelor's Degrees are welcome to apply; however, rejection is at the discretion of WVDOT
Complete (or show that you plan to have) 30 credit hours (or equivalent) when finishing your freshman year (end of Spring 2025).
Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) the semester preceding and succeeding the period for which you are applying.
Have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.
Have a valid driver's license
These positions are classified as temporary full-time employees, and are not eligible for benefits such as insurance, retirement, paid leave, etc. Co-Ops may only be employed for a maximum of 1,000 hours within a 12 month period. Compensation is based on number of hours completed towards a degree and the number of co-ops previously worked.
